1. Former expresses experience of present perfect tense and the later is meaning of past tense.
2.I’ve heard the song of birds. I heard the song of birds yesterday.
3.前者は経験の意味を含む現在完了形であり、その経験そのものは過去のいつのことでもよい。よくever,never,before,oftenなどの副詞を伴う。後者は過去のある時点、すなわちlast weekにおける動作を表している。

I think that the former is to mean an experience, the latter is to mean a fact.
-Can you think of other example which would show the difference?
I’ve played tennis . I played tennis with Mr.Hall yesterday.
-How could you explain the diffeerence ・・・?
前者は経験を表し、後者は事実を表している。また、後者はある時点のことを述べるときに用いられるので yesterday lastweekなどを使うことが多い。しかし、前者はあいまいな時間を表すことが多いので先ほど例に出した yesterday lastweekなどを使うことはない。

“ I’ve seen that film .” means their past experience, but ” I saw that film last week.” means only the fact of last week.

I have been to Okinawa. I went to Okinawa last week.
3)How could you explain the difference simply to your students, using their own language?
現在完了形では、「~したことがある」という「経験」を表し、過去形では「~した」という過去の事実を表します。

1.The grammar of the first sentence is ”the present perfect tense”,and the sentence means experiences of the past. On the otherhand, the grammar of the second sentence is “the past tense”. It means an incident of the past.
