Thank you for taking our class!!
We wanted to do various activities to keep students busy.
(1)Introduction about Mr.Michio
We showed him and the picture taken by him. If we showed only him, maybe students couldn’t understand his job. So, we showed two pictures. We’d like to have them guess his job. And I wanted them to see beautiful picture.
(2)並び替え
We changed turn of 5 sentences. We took extra time to make groups. It was a pity.

(4)Practice of reading(games)
We chose 指名game and janken game from Mr.Kanno’s suggestion and Interesting Link. I thought games were interesting, but I couldn’t explain well. I should try to explain in plain English.
(5)Group work
We discussed about points to read, and practiced reading in each groups. It was better to use English in groups. I should have students use English a lot. I want some advice to improve this.

The constitution of our class was written in Lucy’s comment.I’ll reflect ourselves and myself in our class.
At first,these are some good points in our class.
1)Pictures on screen was effective.
We wanted students to see those beautiful pictures colored,so we used screen.It was effective to attract the interests of students.
2)Jumble game.
We did this activity since we wanted the students to enjoy reading the text.The sentences we used in Jumble was little difficult.So maybe students get bored with only to read.However,Jumble game helped to keep students busy.
3)Various reading practice.
We used two kinds of reading games;指名 game and pair reading game.
Thanks to those activities,students could practice many times with pleasure.
Second,these are some bad points (the points need to improve)
1)How to make groups.
When I made groups,I confused how to adjust the numbers of students,and took a long time.We should discuss about that before class.
2)The meaning of text.
In our class,we didn’t teach the meaning of the second text.I didn’t think deeply,but how to teach meaning is very important.I want to know good idea.
3)The reading points.
When the activity of read in groups,we showed some “reading points”(stress,pronunciation etc),but we didn’t explain of them.We should have taken more time and show some examples.
Finally,I have thought that ,it is difficult to make reading class interesting.However,there are many ideas of interesting reading activities!
In my experiences,reading class is tend to be boring,especially for students who doesn’t like English.So I wan to learn many interesting activities ,and make the class enjoyable.

Lucy and Sayahh had written about class constistution and good or bad points of our class. So,I want to tell you about what I felt during the class as I act as a teacher.
First, I felt nervous because I didn’t have confidence of my pronounciation.It’s really embarrasing for me to read aloud as a model…but we have to DO the model reading when we teach real students. We have to teach correct pronounciation,stress,etc…I need more practice by myself.
Second, I didn’t know how to encourage students who didn’t have will to do activities. It must be more difficult in junior high school.There may be many delicate reasons.
Third, similar to the second one, I couldn’t understand all of the relations among students. Some students couldn’t participate group works because they are shy. I think there were more students who had(played role) some problems, such as being too shy or teased by, but I could realized only a certain student, and couldn’t support others. I wonder how teachers grasp the relationships among students and help them considering that every student can participate activities.
These are all very difficult aspects that teachers deal with. Now we are students but we will become teacher this month in teaching practice. It’s really lucky of us to have a chance to learn how teachers deal with the problems in everyday class activities.

Hi Guys,
I thought that your good points were how you introduced the story, your teamwork, your effort to do a jumble and your effort to walk around the class and keep the students on task.
I thought you could improve in the following areas:
1) The way the groups were made
2) Promoting interaction in English during the jumble
3) Discussiong the meaning of the text
4) Conducting the reading practice (telling students to focus on intonation, stress, etc..)
I will tell you my ideas about how you could improve in the four areas after the other ETM3 members write.

あなた達のレッスンは様々なアクティビティーがあったから、それはよかった点だったと思います。様々なアクティビティーがあったから、生徒は良い読む練習を出来たと思います。
でも、グループを作った時、レッスンは少し遅くなりました。少しめちゃくちゃだったと思います。簡単にレッスンを進めるために、速くグループを作ったらよかったです。また、テキストを何回も読みましたけど、多分生徒は意味がよく分かりません。普通なストーリじゃありませんでしたから。
楽しくて、面白かったです。よく出来ました。

I enjoyed your class very much because our thinking time was much. You used visual effects through using PC. So we could image Michio’s photographs world by looking colors.
I think during the class,the teachers sometimes should ask the questions. Because some students couldn’t understand the contents.

Thank you for your class.
At first, I was surprised to use computer. But, for the student, it is interesting. Moreover,changing the seat correct order is fun.Because of this, they could have more interest in class. I think pair reading is good way. They could listen another student’s reading. It is effective for students .

I really enjoyed your class.
I think it was good to use a pictures on the computer, because visual aids attract students.
I also think it is a little difficult that students understand intonation , stress, rhythm and so on. I think they(intonation, etc…) are points which teachers have to take care of.
But, it was very nice that there ware various practices to read in your class. We could practice reading without being tired.

I think group work of points to read is a little difficult, so teacher should show some example before group work.

I felt this class was very exciting because teachers’ behavior and class activities were very effective. First, there were some bad students in the class. When they didn’t join the class, teachers supported them appropriately. Second, the introduction was nice to attract students. I thought games are very effective for children.
Anyway, this class was a model of reading class, I thought. It was interesting.

Your lesson was very fun because there were many activities.
And I think use computer is one of the good way for teaching.

I think using the PC to show the pictures was good because it was easier to look at than puting on the blackboard.
A jumble was interesting but how to make groups was not so good because the group members were too far to talk.How to practice reading was also interesting.
I think walking around the class is important to control the class.

It was very unique class.
I think the activity that before into the content was very good because students kept busy.
Especially, pair and group work were good idea.
But I think teacher should have to do more. For example, to teach how to read, praise and control and so on.

I think good active class.
Good point is keeping students busy.
Teacher make them do maltiple things,for example watching,reading.
Bad point is we do not understand that have to do in group wark.
Teacher should show us demo.

Your class was smooth and structure of class was good. In this class, I was talking to a student next to me, and that student did another thing but this class. In spite of this, teachers never taked to us. If you see such students, you should warn them or ask some questons suddenly, and have those students join the class again.Thank you!

Thank you for your teaching. Your class was very interesting. There were many activities in your lesson. I was sleeping student so the activities were good. But I think pair work and 指名 game had problems. In pair work, we had nothing to do after reading. And we need small groups. If we do so, the game will become more exciting. Keep students busy!

I enjoyed this class.
In this class, ALT and class room teacher used much English .
Students had a lot of chance to hear English. It’s helphul to improve student’s pronunceation and reading ability.
In group work, every students had a chance to read sentence.
It’s also good for keeping student busy.
And, I think more clrear direction was needed.
Sometimes students couldn’t understand what thay should do.
Especially, in the time to make a group. There should be more clear direction.

This class was very good oppotunity to study English with
interest.
☆The good points were
1)There were some variety of practices to read
2)Teacher walked around and help to speak English for
the students who read not well.
3)You did take the way of interesting reading
→ex1)last ETM3 class’s 5 points to evaluate reading.
intonation, rithym, pronaunciation,and so on.
ex2)Mr.kanno’s suggestion to call on the students.
★The improvement points were
1)How to make group.
→ex)I think good that you make groups before class.
2)How to make the class more speedy.
→ex)You speak a little fast and read the sentence more
high tempo.
Over all, It was a nice reading class. I wanted take this class
in junior high school.

I enjoyed your class.
I think your class was devised very well with screen.
And you made students make coreect sentense before reading. It was vey interesting work and studenrs can have fun I think.
But it takes a long time for each works. Students had a surplus time and started to talk. And I think you couldn’t cooperate each other. When you were trouble in, there was a blank time. So I thought teachers mustn’t be silent in class.
I think I want to use your idea in reading class.

You made this class as you cooperate each other, so it was very good. 並び替え was interesting too. You advised unpronounceable people to speak correct pronounce.
I think that teacher usually prepare computer is little difficult.
